Another week, another whip. This weekend of football almost slipped by without a major upset,
but the Cardinals summarily kept that from happening. I'm sure Phil had nightmares of
people saying "Jake the Snake" over and over. I still call him "Jake the Fake", and I will
until he retires. There were a few other minor surprises this week, though, as well.
Chicago bum-rushed Atlanta, and the Saints paddy-whacked the Vikings. Also, the
Cincinnati/Pittsburgh game brought the Bengals firmly back to the ground, while the Packers
and Chargers fell (somewhat respectfully) from the ranks of the unbeaten. Tony and myself
did the best job of picking the games this week, with Tony grabbing sole position of
first place, and myself moving to share third. Phil slumps a bit to second, while Jay
gets smacked back to third. Alan and Brad are still hanging tough, and no one is really
truly out of the contest yet. Notice that with four weeks of the season behind us, no one
has yet been able to claim first place two weeks in a row!
