Week 7 was rather treacherous for most of us again, although only two of us failed to score a record of 500 or better. The upsets of New Orleans over St. Louis and NY Giants over Washington gave each of us two losses, and were it not for those two games, we all would have had much better weeks. There ended up being a few games where only one or two people picked differently from all the others. Obviously, those games decided much of this week's contest. Jay almost had himself a cool victory over everyone else if the Panthers had not lost to the Jets. Satish, Cody, and myself thought Kansas City could keep Indianapolis spiraling downward, but we were wrong. Baltimore won by one point, keeping Ray from winning his unique pick over the rest of us. But the biggest win has to go to Alan, who alone picked Dallas to beat Arizona, thereby helping him to a sweet 10-4 record for the week. Kerry did well too, going 9-5. Those marks, coupled with Phil's disappointing record this week, helps propel Kerry and Alan into a tie for first, while Phil drops a game behind to second.

Tony: "At this point in the season, I would take a consistent 8-9 win weekend. I have no freaking clue who will win week to week, except maybe the Rams. I too miss the days of the dynasty (it helped that I'm a Cowboy fan). But even when the Cowboys were down in the mid 80's to 1990, it was nice to see who the dominant teams were (49ers, Redskins, Broncos, etc.) and to measure how far away from good your team was compared to them. I hate parity and I hate Free Agency/Salary Cap."

Email quotes from the week:

Cody: "I've thought about this long and hard... not really, but after last weekend's embarrassing stint of losses, I figured I needed to take some chances to get my numbers back up. My pick for Thursday -- as much I'm going to regret doing this -- is Kansas City."

Brad: "Maybe I can get more than 3 games right this week."

Phil: "Believe it or not, I actually considered just flipping a coin for all my picks this week, but I decided against it. After all, what are the odds of having two weeks in a row being completely crazy?"

Shannon: (Tony changed his pick mid-week from Dallas to Arizona) "Hmm, looks like you should have stayed with the Cowboys and your man Clint Stoerner!! Go Cowboys! One game out of first place in the NFC Least! I would have had the same week as you had I not had my head up my a## and picked KC over Indy. Duh."

Tony: (his response to me) "It was the defense and the underrated suckiness of Jake "THE FAKE" Plummer that pulled them through. . ."
