Super Bowl XXXVII

Well, there wasn't really much drama going into this final week like there was last year, at least not in terms of this contest. Tony already had first place wrapped up, much to the chagrin of Tanya, who finished third overall. She either tied for first or outright led the contest for 16 of the 17 regular season weeks, but somehow got tripped up in the postseason. Tony really started making a move to challenge back around week 7, and kept it close for the duration. Some risky moves on his part paid off, and now the crown is his! Last year's co-champions, Phil and Kerry, can only sit back and ponder on what a weird season it was. Interestingly enough, the contest winners from both 2001 and 2002 each had 170 wins. Cody had a fantastic season this year, pulling into second place after this final week. He totally did a 180, as he finished tied for last place in 2001. In last place this year, though, is a disgruntled Jay, whose bid to challenge ended abruptly after he forgot to send in picks for week 15. His win total of 144 is at least better than Cody's losing total last year of 141. Overall, it was a great contest this year, and I appreciate everyone's participation!! There will definitely be some changes for the 2003 contest... Changes that I hope will keep everyone interested all the way thru the playoffs, no matter what your record! So until August, have a great year!

TAMPA BAY ALL THE WAY!

I'll get straight to the point. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to have to pick the Raiders here. Everyone keeps talking about the #1 offense versus the #1 defense, so I'm cancelling those two areas out and looking at the other areas, the Raiders are just better balanced and also better equipped to handle the pressure of the big-game. So even though I'm hoping the Raiders get squashed, I don't think so and I'll pick the Raiders in a close one, 23-20.

This is one of those games where I will be happy no matter which team wins the game. I could see myself pulling for both teams. But since I have to pick a winner (or is Bud Selig in charge, can it end in a tie?) I'll take the Silver and Black.

I will go with the argument I've been making thus far. The Bucs have absolutely figured out how to stop the West Coast Offense. First the Packers, then the Niners, and then the Eagles. I just think the Raiders will be next. If their offensive line can hold up, and the receivers can get separation in the secondary (Rice and Brown are the best so maybe that will happen), then the Raiders could realistically win the game. But I just think the Bucs are going to be too fired up to be stopped. So, I am reluctantly picking Tampa Bay.

TAMPA BAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Al Davis is evil)

Lets go with the Raiders!
159-107
I will go with the Bucs because
1. I want to tie Shyam.
2. I like them better.
3. It won't hurt me in the standings.
4. why not.

I hate to pick against Gruden, but. . . .the jumpsuit wearing, slicked back dyed hair, law suit happy owner, Al Davis, will win his fourth Super Bowl this weekend. Give me "The Greatness". . .Oakland Raiders to win it all.
