Getting pretty much what I deserved after all my mouthing off for the past couple weeks,
Brad,
Joe,
Jason,
and
Kip
did the best they could to kick me right in the tail. Each of
them scored a very admirable 11-3 record, while I flunked out with a poor 8-6 tally.
Granted, it's not like this contest exactly allows you to plan butt-whippings for
fellow contestants. One week you might be the giver, the next, likely you'll be the
recipient.
So, a three-game swing throws
Shannon
back down into a tie with
Alan
for third place.
Flying under the radar,
Jason
sneaks into second. But the truly interesting development is the
new tie for first, shared by
Joe
and
Brad.
Oddly, both players had the exact same
picks this week. Over the next couple of weeks,
it will be intriguing to see which player makes the first move - and whether said move
bears the mark of genius or foolishness...
Speaking of bright/dim picks, this week certainly brought its fair share of surprises.
Kip
and
Tracy
win "Pick of the Week" honors by taking Houston over KC - that one was almost
completely unfore-seeable. However,
Tracy and two others had solo disaster picks.
Mike
was the only
one to pick Arizona over Atlanta (so close!)
Cody
alone wanted an extra L by taking SD
over Denver. And only
Tracy
was bold, yet careless, enough to take the Lions over the Eagles.
The Jags'
win in Tennessee shocked pretty much everyone, except
Lloyd,
Shane,
and
Mike.
However... those same three were also the only ones to take Tampa over Oakland. You can't
win for losing, guys! As for group blanket picks, every-one correctly guessed Minnesota
and Seattle (even
Tanya,
painfully going against her Niners).
